About The Artwork
I am an artist but in my spare time I used to sell vintage clothes on eBay. I dressed up behind closed curtains and transformed into a sensual mannequin. While researching my competitors I came across Natalja - another eBay seller of vintage negligee. Over 7 years I secretly collected close to 22000 internet pics from her website. With these ‘stolen’ pics I created a Taschen-style full-colour 1000+ page artists book. Working like a detective I discovered that Natalja, a used-to-be Lithuanian escort, was now the wife of a rich American estate magnate from Illinois. The book SECRET BETWEEN US is a personal voyeuristic trip into their bedroom via the keyhole of the Internet. It is a visual ode to NATALJA - my LINGERIE QUEEN. The SHOWER CURTAIN NATALJA is a fragment of the publication. The LEFT + RIGHT model together are identical to the endsheets of the book. SHOWER CURTAIN NATALJA consists of 2 panels: LEFT+RIGHT each 140x200cm.

I observe, document, collect, translate, transform & Photoshop. I categorize, organize & archive what I come across. What I can’t find I make myself. I dress-up, or clothe others. I stop objects in motion or go-with-the(ir)-flow. I collide film with (stop-motion) animation. I reinvent old techniques to fit my ideas (mutoscope). I form new concepts or conceptualise familiar images & stories. All of this ends up in my books, small & large, in short movies, animations & installations.
