Art Description

Photography: Color, C-type, Digital on Paper.

This shot was taken in Sorrento, Italy, form top of the cliff looking down at people enjoying the sea over a number of piers. I'd like the viewers feel the atmosphere of a very hot and sunny summer Italian day, the pleasure of splashing and swimming in the water, the hot of the sun under the skin.

It is printed on Fineart Baryta Hanemule Paper, an acid free archival fine art paper and it comes with a signed and numbered certificate of authenticity.

Sorrento #1 won a First place Winner of the Aerial category at the 8th International Color Awards.
8th Annual Jury members included captains of the industry from Christie’s, Paris; Frieze Art Fair, London; DB Agency, Milan; Clair Galerie, Munich; Edinburgh Film Festival; Art Beatus Gallery, Hong Kong; Gup Magazine, Amsterdam; and Eyestorm, London.

One print of the edition was sold at half price in 2016 as part of the project Opere per Ricostruire, all proceeds donated by the organization and the artist to repay the damages of Italian 2016 earthquake.
A second print of this edition was sold at the auction night Eyes on the Future Gala Dinner on October 10th 2018, at The Park Lane Hotel, London. The night was organized by Help Children See for Longer. Proceeds from the Eyes on the Future Gala Dinner 2018 will help us support indispensable research into Leber Congenital Amaurosis, a severe form of inherited eye disease causing blindness in children. LCA affects thousands in the UK and hundreds of thousands worldwide.
