Art Description
Photography: Digital, Color, Manipulated, Ink and Paper on Paper.
Sun Glass I is part of an ongoing series entitled, "The Seafarer's Den". The overall body of work is inspired by the artist's first exposure to the West Coast as a young adult, traversing gloomy fisherman hamlets tucked away along the forest laden coasts of northern California. Bucolic towns brimming with fog, salty air and old dory vessels, the foray into a maritime culture so deeply embedded into the local consciousness forever connected with the artist.
Each image is printed with pigment-based inks on archival, museum-quality luster paper which provide the highest quality of saturation rendering deep, rich colors. All papers and inks are tested and selected specifically by the artist. The image also contains an additional one-inch white border on all four sides (beyond the indicated dimensions), in order to provide room for matting purposes.
Each work is set between sheets of glassine paper, provided with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist, securely rolled and shipped inside of a heavy duty tube, hand-packed by the artist.
