Sunscape / Lava River (Limited edition 7/30) Photograph

Being in nature feels like coming home within myself. I feel like a little girl playing in nature. Connecting with the sun, the moon, the trees, wind, earth, water, light and shadow; nature's energy and vitality. Qi. I feel space, peace, wonder and inspiration. I hope that other people will experience these feelings through my work.​ ​ My projects 'Sunscapes', 'Moonscapes' and 'Emptiness and desire' consist of abstract, painterly photographs, for which I use my camera as a paintbrush. The camera is my paintbrush, the light the ink, the line my breath. ​ The images are the result of a long, creative process in which I play with rhythm and pace, slowing down and accelerating, shapes and colours, looking for harmony and contrast at the same time, to control and let go. ​ Total focus and one single relaxed exhalation are required to create smooth and energetic lines. Everything I touch in one movement flows together into one image. ​ I do not manipulate the images in any way, just a basic finish in Photoshop. Everything in the picture was captured on camera, in a single image.
