Fatima Li Cavoli was born in Terrasini in 1955. She is a passionate photographer and with this art she developed a profound relationship. Fatima has never followed the canonical paths set by art schools but, thanks to her remarkable intuition, she has learned to capture glimpses, faces, little significant details, shots that become pieces of her soul. Over time, she has had numerous stimulating experiences that have led her to acquire specific skills of all respects. For some years now, she has dedicated herself to Still Life, studying the most prestigious masters in this field (Christopher Broadbent, Renato Marcialis, Harold Ross, Carlo de Nino) and taking inspiration from them for her artistic journey. With some of them she has had the opportunity to cultivate a profitable collaboration, in particular with Carlo De Nino with whom she feels in debt for being able to support and guide her in the improvement of the most specialized techniques that today she masters with refined elegance. Each shot traces soft and refined encounters between color and light, and blends lyrically space and time, always resulting in great impact. Her still lifes are compositions of rare beauty, almost magic that run from her eyes to the eyes of the beholder. They are images suspended in time, re-appropriation of dreamed moments, recovery of paths of the heart, evocation of distant dimensions, impalpable memories of worlds never completely lost and fluid and musical silences that investigate deep. It seems sometimes that the theme hasn’t got particular importance. What she is really exploring is the feeling of delicate beauty hidden in remote corners of memory and everyday life, in the shyness of a faded petal, in the elegant nakedness of a tool in disuse, in the poetry of a towel rolled up, in the weary relentlessness of the time that passes. As an artist of Still-Life, Fatima finds essences in the surfaces and plays on emotion, transforming the image into narration; but she also does more: she embellishes her still lifes by brushing them with light (it is the technique of Light Painting) and giving vitality to works full of suggestion that capture and involve the observer through thin, luminescent wires of nostalgia.
