ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I took this photograph in the Cathedral of Toledo, Spain. This Gothic image, from the 14th century, is known as the Virgen Blanca and is located inside the choir of the church. The expression of joy that it conveys, the historical value and its beauty were the reasons for me to photograph it. So, I directed the focus to the subject and left the background slightly blurred, so that the photograph gained depth and, at the same time, the details of the church could be appreciated.

Martiniano Ferraz is a Brazilian artist who lives in Recife, Pernambuco. It was during holiday trips, while still working as an architect, that he was charmed by photography. Nature, architecture and the urban are the themes he usually photographed. From 2020, while isolated in his home due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Martiniano Ferraz began to produce also geometric and abstract digital arts, where it is common to have vibrant colors and three-dimensional effects. One of its greatest sources of inspiration, in the use of color, is the art produced by the Brazilian artist Beatriz Milhazes.
