About The Artwork

“The Girl from Ipanema” is one of the most famous songs from Brazil, capturing an innocent crush on a local Carioca girl. The song was written by Antônio Carlos Jobim and Vinicius de Moraes in 1962. On a trip to Brazil in 2004, I asked a then girl friend for a theme to shoot in Brazil, she said " The girl from Ipanema" while shooting on a plantation in the country side, i saw the this, it was instantly clear this was my girl.
