Tipping Lines #01 Photograph - Limited Edition of 15

Limited editions of 70x86cm are printed on Hahnemühle FineArt Photo Rag paper 308 g/m2, and are delivered with author certificate. Each artwork includes a 1cm white border on all four sides to facilitate framing. I have sailed all my life and I could spend hours just mesmerized by the water, and everything happening above and below it. How could a thin surface separate two such different worlds? “Tipping Lines” is a series of photographs inspired by those separating lines in nature. The images are structured within three layers, connected by the horizon or what is show as “Tipping Lines”. The first layer is the sky, the second is the horizon line far away, third is the surface of the water - another “Tipping Line” - and fourth, the space underwater. The artwork was created by joining two distinct photographs, where the contrast between the two world above and underwater gives the viewer a glance of the different moods and leads to different levels of reading. The superposition of these two worlds accentuates the contrast of calmness versus chaos and linearity versus horizontality. Each “Tipping Line” present in the artwork is a door to a new layer of the water’s state. Prints in smaller sizes are available directly through Saatchi in open editions.
