Toast - Limited Edition of 10 Photograph

It doesn't matter how rich, famous, smart, fat, young, old, beautiful you get -you still love bread/toast -it's a universal language. I wanted to do something that was ubiquitous/Kiwi. Something completely unpretentious, and un-choreographed. Obviously, bread/toast is one of the staples of the Western diet -and that would take in North America, Britain, Australia...I'm not sure they have Vogel's bread everywhere (yet) but I'm sure that's only a matter of time. It's a simple salute to a staple Kiwi-classic food for decades. Also, It's an ironic take on "food photography" which I have absolutely nothing against (it is an art unto itself ~a fact of which I'm fully aware...) but It is not something that I'd like to pursue -and frankly, I don't have the patience to commit to that art, the inclination or desire. Some people live to eat -and others eat to live -I'm in the latter category and happy about it. I used to cook (professionally) as a Sous Chef, ~that's the person that does entrees and desserts, and I hated it. The hours, the pay, the pressure, ~I was doing it to keep my head above water while I was "perusing my muse" i.e.: learning to write songs/play guitar/ and build a repertoire. Later I turned to IT to get out of having to do labour, while I continued to write, and take pictures.
