I was cruising through the Tuscan countryside, just enjoying the ride, when this scene stopped me in my tracks. The rolling h...

Born and raised in Belarus, now living and working in Ukraine, I explore the rhythm of urban life through the lens of candid street photography. My work is centered on people — their fleeting interactions, unspoken emotions, and the cultural imprints that shape them. I embrace the spontaneity of street photography, seeking harmony within chaos. My work is a balance of authenticity and composition, where each frame is an unscripted yet carefully observed moment. I shoot primarily in natural light, allowing reality to shape my artistic vision. I discovered street photography in 2017, initially as a way to add more movement to my daily routine. What started as a casual hobby quickly evolved into a profound passion. In 2019, my work gained international recognition when I was selected as one of the nine finalists in the Exibart Street Contest, a competition that attracted thousands of submissions from over 100 countries. This acknowledgment highlighted my distinctive approach to street photography and marked my emergence in the global photographic community. Shortly after, I held my first solo exhibition, “Contrasts”, at the Lestnitsa Gallery in Minsk. The exhibition showcased images taken in Belarus and beyond, exploring the interplay of light and shadow, movement and stillness, and the deeper contrasts within society. In 2020, during a period of political unrest in Belarus, I was among four photographers who received support from the SHKLO platform, an initiative dedicated to promoting contemporary Belarusian photography and visual arts. My work was also published in the photobook “Colors of the Belarusian Protests”, a visual chronicle documenting the historical events and social movements in Belarus. Due to the increasing pressure from the Belarusian government on independent journalists and photographers covering these events, I was forced to leave the country. After relocating to Poland and later to Ukraine, I continued my work as a journalist and photographer, documenting daily life during the war. In 2023, I participated in Fotofestiwal Łódź, a prestigious international photography festival in Poland. That year’s theme, “Hope”, included collaborations with the Month of Photography in Minsk and Odesa Photo Days. My participation in this festival not only expanded my audience but also reinforced my connection to contemporary photographic movements in Eastern Europe.
