Statement: I don't want to talk about You like You're not in the room. You called me beautiful, both inside and out, and relentlessly impressed it upon me until I began to believe, and now because of You I am learning how to fly. Description: Pinhole photography lends an almost surreal feeling of romance and gentleness. I suppose it's got to do with the fact that there are no hard edges or a defining separation between subjects - there is a flowing into and out of. Location: A photograph of doves taking off at the Hout Bay Birds Wildlife Sanctuary, Cape Town. Material - Premium certified Epson canvas, 375 gsm, acid and lignin free cotton rag. Epson ultrachrome K3 ink. - Archival acid and lignin free cotton rag paper. Giglee prints. Roland printer.

I was born and raised in Vanderbijlpark, a small town in the Gauteng Provence of South Africa, in 1969. It's a heavily industrialised area where the sky is pale, grey, or brown. Not knowing what I wanted to do with my life, a friend suggested I further my education in photography. It was then that I found an outlet to the pressing need for expression, without the misunderstood external gesticulations that limit the souls' expression. The purpose behind my work is to share what I have learned, i.e. with every experience, the good and the bad, life loves, teaches, incubates, protects, nurtures, and sets us free to live and prosper if we so choose. At the age of 48, I left my hometown and moved to Cape Town, South Africa, where I currently reside, and the sky is always blue.
