Work inspired by a Friend I believe they would appreciate something new and different. i choose this medium because i specialise in fine art photography, the subject used are to describe the story behind the artwork. A short club with one knobbed end used as a weapon by warriors of certain South African peoples. If it is not decorated like this it is simply called induku (stick) and if the stick has a knob at its point it is called. A short club with one knobbed end used as a weapon by warriors of certain South African peoples. They were an indispensable weapon of war particularly among southern Nguni tribes such as the Zulu was occasionally used during world war. During the apartheid era in south Africa, they were often carried and used by protesters and sometimes by the police opposing them Iqabanga(playfellow) are still widely carried, especially in rural areas, while in times of peace it serves as a symbol of safety. The Idea behind the series was to basically express how the modern culture doesn’t use the Iqabanga (playfellow) for protection but more a less use guns and knives for security.
