Photographer, one time film maker, digital artist, web developer. Involvement with photography came about via an early interest in painting and love of cinema. After some years of experimentation, went on to specialise in photojournalism and editorial photography, with work featured in (and on the covers of) hundreds of significant journals, books and other publications in over 40 countries. Work has been shown at: Battersea Arts Centre 1976, Serpentine Gallery (Summer Show 4, 1977), Contemporary Choice 1982, Coracle Press Gallery 1978, Midland Group Gallery 1982, Gallery Oldham (in collection via Contemporary Art Society 1982), Whitechapel Gallery (Whitechapel Open 1983, 1985), Goldsmiths A.T.C Gallery 1985, Grundy Art Gallery (Mass Photography, Blackpool Through the Camera 2011), Corbis Contemporary collection (1913-1916), Candid Arts (Dark Arts 2016), PH21 Gallery (2016, 2023), Gallerique (2016 - 2019), Getty Images Gallery, Blank Wall Gallery 2023, Valid World Hall Gallery (Scene and Meaning 2023), London Art Biennale 2023, Decode Gallery (Darkness 2023), CICA Museum 2023 Has studied at Derby College of Art (Now University of Derby) and Goldsmiths College.
