To do this work I was inspired by my passion for the sea, dance and photography. I am the woman underwater and I want to convey both the sensation of gravity less one feels underwater and the overwhelming energy of the sea. It is my personal feeling when I dive. I also wanted to express my wish for human kind to learn to build a new relationship with nature. Where nature is a subject instead of an object. That is why the woman is under the water, and not on top. To do this work I combine two photographs and then make a photomontage where one can see both the surface of the sea and underwater world beneath it. I love the lines, textures of the water in relation to light, the reflections and how the sun rays enter the first meters below surface. This creates a space of calm. Limited editions of 90x70cm are printed on Hahnemühle FineArt Photo Rag paper 308 g/m2, and are delivered with author certificate. Each print is provided with an extra 2cm white border to facilitate framing. Prints in smaller sizes are available directly through Saatchi in open editions. I also accept special commissions and requests if you are still unable to find what you are looking for. Please feel free to contact me with any inquiries.

She intends to portray the sea as a living being. And lately also looking for ways to represent the surreal feelings of the recent heat waves during the last summers. Beatriz did 12 years of classical ballet, explaining her passion for photographing herself dancing underwater. Her video art pieces and multimedia installations have been awarded many times in international film festivals, and she has recently been commissioned two public artworks.
