Wood End Light, 24 x 16" Photograph - Limited Edition of 40

The hike over the jetty to Wood End Light in Provincetown, MA, on Cape Cod can be precarious - go when the tide is low! - but it is a worthwhile journey. My black and white photomontage features the lighthouse backed by a starry sky. I wanted to present the lighthouse as it might be seen if fully illuminated at night, while retaining the stars in the black sky. Since my youth, I have been fascinated by the night sky. I spent many peaceful nights in my back yard in the country with chirping crickets and my telescope. My hope is that this image allows the viewer a moment of quiet contemplation.
