This photo is a rare jewel in my XINGU collection. Dating back to 1985, it holds within itself the flame of a unique experience I had while spending forty days immersed in the "Yuwalapity" indigenous tribe, hidden in the pulsating heart of the Forest. Ah, but make no mistake, getting there is no easy task! You need a special authorization from the Federal Government, granted by FUNAI - Fundação Nacional do Índio. And in this deep dive into indigenous culture, my existence found a home in ancestral traditions, experiencing each moment as a sacred encounter. There, I shared meals, slept and lived in an immersive way with these fascinating people. Through this image frozen in time, we open the doors to a universe of unexplored stories, it is an invitation for our hearts to open before the grandeur of the ancestral wisdom that permeates the still virgin forest. And in the delicate dance between light and shadow, my camera became a sacred instrument, and each click is a reverence to the beauty and resilience of these people! May this image tell its own story, echoing in every heart that contemplates it, and may it be a call to reflection on the urgency of preserving, respecting and honoring the cultural roots that sustain our humanity. Therefore, my dear collector, allow yourself to get lost in these enchanted lands of the Xingu. Let yourself be enveloped by the magic that flows from the union between ancestry and the present, and understand, in all its grandeur, the importance of valuing and protecting the cultural riches that shape our universal identity.

Anísio Magalhães (1951) is a Brazilian photographer considered one of the greatest talents in world photography, thanks to his incomparable ability to immortalize regional cultures through his photographs. When he was only 8 years old, he got his first "Kodak" camera, and since that time he had a dream, to visit Brazil. A little older, he began to prepare developers, film fixers and black and white paper at Mercedes-Benz, where he also began to photograph in his own laboratory, from pieces to visits that came to the factory such as: Pelé, Emerson Fittipaldi , etc. Over time, he secured his place in the advertising department, where cultural magazines, books and art calendars were made, which were distributed throughout Brazil and abroad. After graduating, he became the first journalist to graduate from Mercedes-Benz in Brazil, producing photographs throughout Brazil and Latin America. He was awarded twice as best photographer by ABERJE - Brazilian Association of Company Magazine and Newspaper Editors. He made reports in Chile at the time of Augusto Pinochet. He photographed the Pantanal for art books and Mercedes-Benz calendars, gold mining on the Madeira River, the Indians in Xingú, Luiz Gonzaga in Recife, Frank Sinatra in Rio Palace, Fernanda Montenegro with an exclusive presentation at Teatro da Lagoa, Ayrton Senna in Interlagos, among other works. He produced the book “Arte Plumária no Brasil", which went to more than 160 countries. Anísio never commercialized his works, but decided to put his photographs on the market only in 2023.
