"You're a dead man!" Photograph

My name is David Richardson (born in 1970), my artist alter-ego is called Mr Mole and I'm a former PhD student from Cambridge University, England. I turned away from science to the arts in 2001, a discipline I'd had some formal training in ten years prior, and I haven't looked back since. In 2008 I took to the streets for 1 year as on undercover artist with my 5 megapixel Nokia N95 8gb mobile phone camera. The 3 reasons I did not use an all singing all dancing professional camera and chose a simple mobile phone camera are; firstly the risk of getting mugged, secondly the mobile phone camera is easier to conceal and less intrusive as it is well known that people alter when they know they are being photographed, and thirdly it was product of the time (2008) and with this there is a type of timeless raw honestly about it. During the 1 year I was out on the street taking photos and make short film clips, like an wildlife photographer, I gained the trust of my subjects and this can be reflected in the shots I was able to take. My subjects are mainly street people living in Cambridge UK. They are dramatic, powerful and human. A year on, when back in front of Photoshop I made sure not to doctor the images too much but at the same time its a useful piece of software to enhance the mood of the scene. I have become aware that Photography is very much in the spot-light at the moment and feel that it is now time for these images to be revealed to the world. Mr Mole :))
