Gawel Teisseyre
Gawel Teisseyre is a Polish-born contemporary artist based in Italy. His practice moves between painting, photography and mixed media, exploring identity, memory and the way contemporary images shape our perception of reality.
His work combines figurative imagery, abstraction and experimental techniques, often transforming familiar visual references into fragmented and ambiguous compositions. Photography remains an important influence on his approach to light, composition and visual storytelling.
Experimentation is at the core of Teisseyre’s practice. He works across different materials and processes, allowing each series to develop its own visual language.
His ongoing bodies of work, including Daily Mirror, ATM Series and BCK, investigate different aspects of contemporary identity and image culture while maintaining a distinctive interest in distortion, repetition and the imperfect nature of perception.
Teisseyre’s work invites the viewer to look beyond the recognizable image and question what lies behind it.
