About The Artwork

This is a three block relief print comprised of one woodblock piece and two linocut blocks. The first layer of colour was made with a light army green on the plywood block. This first colour has the grain of the wood, even though it is pale in colour it adds some texture in the background and then the next two blocks are the main two colours. I like the way the image has been broken up by the technique (i.e, the lino marks) and simplified but I like looking through the screen of trees and trying to make out something in the background. This is from a photo taken while traveling by bus across the border between Turkey and Bulgaria.
