ABOUT THE ARTWORK

A three copper plate colour etching. In January 2010 myself, my wife Dilyana and our son Miro went to Burgas (Bulgaria) which was covered in snow. So, while everyone was inside all nice and warm I ventured out into the crisp cold whiteness and took loads of photos of Burgas, mostly in the Garden Park which is next to the beach. I am standing beach side facing south, I think? The sun is going down and the shadows getting longer. The Garden Park runs parallel to the city’s beach which is on the Black Sea. Every time we visit Burgas we go to this park either to pass through it to go for a swim or to wander around this long large space. There are lots of small bars, cafes, restaurants and playgrounds, open air summer concerts, an area for skateboarding and more recently rent bikes. It has always been a great amenity for locals and tourists but it was renovated in recent years and is even better now.
