A handmade, original six colour screen print on finest quality Fabriano Rosapina 100% cotton paper (285gsm). (lovely and thick off white Italian printmaking paper with a slight texture. Deckles to some edges) Numbered, signed, titled and dated in pencil at the bottom . edition 25 . sold unframed *(This fits under the mount / matt of a standard 50 x 40cm frame from the Ribba series at Ikea.) 'Entrance' Paper size: 47 x 35cm Image size - 21 x 28cm This print has a textured appearance rather than a solid hard edge, see close up for detail. I wanted to create a printed 'drawing'. I have been working on this series of 'printed drawings' for a couple of years now, and love the combination of geometry and the drawn mark. They have a lovely soft chalky quality and look much nicer in the flesh. All of my prints are original artworks in their own right and over time should increase in value. This is different to 'Limited edition giclee' prints which are reproductions (inkjet prints from a computer) and not originals. For more info about my ideas and to see other work, please visit: http://www.emmalawrenson.com/ Sent carefully rolled in tissue and bubble wrap shipped in a wide sturdy tube for safe delivery. Sold unframed. The other prints in this series can be bought separately :) Thanks for looking

Emma Lawrenson is a British printmaker. She lives and works from her farmhouse studio in the Yorkshire countryside. After studying for an M.A in printmaking at the Royal College of Art in London, Emma describes it as an experience that has shaped her life ever since. She has gone on to exhibit and sell her work all over the world. The techniques and formal qualities of printmaking have always fascinated Emma, and her work is an engagement with the process, where she is passionate about craftsmanship. ‘The process of screen printing and the time it takes to build up a final image is what holds the beauty of a piece; it’s a fundamental part of its soul. My prints may look ‘designed’, but are often rather intuitively and organically made. It’s a nice way to work, capturing a moment; a feeling I have at the time and just going with it.’ Emma’s work ultimately emerges by intuition, her style is minimal and peaceful, and she is passionate about colour, which is always very carefully considered. She loves walking, photography and travel; where anything from the smallest shape, shadow, pattern, texture or colour can trigger an idea. ‘I strive to create something beautiful and understated in my work, and I have always been drawn to work that feels calm’. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Her work has appeared in many magazines including ‘Vogue’, ‘House and Gardens’, ‘Art Review’, ‘Country Living’, ’25 Beautiful Homes’ amongst others. She has even had work on film and television sets in America with Universal Studios.
