I live and work in France, in paris. I was an illustrator in publishing and advertising, and since 2001 I devote myself to painting Focused on the human face, first with paintings on wood, then on large canvas, I am more interested today in the endless stream of videos feeding our everyday life. By stopping the internet flux, a picture is seized to become the start of my painting. The frozen images allow me to capture a moment, an emotion, or to put the emphasis on one particular situation, and to question them. Video frames have a certain character like pixelation, blur and color shift. All these artifacts are transferred to my paintings. The change of scale and media (oil on canvas) give a new status to the captured frame.
