RECAST SERIES This is a series of photographs turned into drawings, and then printed onto paper. The process started when I took photographs of architecture objects, during moments when the light and camera angle transformed them into abstract compositions, after developing the images I worked on each photograph's surface by scratching them, folding-unfolding and finally drawing lines on them. In the process the surface became a ruin. This ruined original was scanned and printed as a limited edition onto fine art Hahnemühle paper. I like calling this process ARCHITECTURE, due to the constant changing of textures until I get to the final object. By using this strategy I explore a new sense of space, depicted in the composition. This new surface covered by a fine thread brings "air" and a sense of lightness to the work. A chaotic and transforming force, which created an atmosphere of illusion. Through the final process, the digital-scanning I also became interested in the fabric of pixels and how I could break the image even further, but keeping a sense of recognition to the abstract composition, accumulating tension and exploring chaos.

Antonio, a creative consultant and close collaborator of architect Zaha Hadid, delves into the realm of perception in his artistic endeavors. Through his work, he explores the interplay between optical illusions and uncertain perceptions. One of his preferred mediums is installations, which he combines with hybrid photography. Observing his creations, our eyes bear witness to a constant flux, as subtle optical tricks unfold when we shift our focus across different areas. Space appears to both recede and advance, while we become attuned to the minute variations in color, texture, and material. Antonio skillfully employs the spectrum of light to evoke emotions, effectively drawing viewers into a contemplative and almost meditative state of mind. Antonio has long been captivated by the visual potency and profound depth experienced when engaging with a two-dimensional surface. By juxtaposing the physicality of his artwork with the illusion of space, he skillfully constructs intricate scenarios that hint at the emergence of new environments. These scenarios are merely suggestions, not realities. They exist as illusions, not truths.
