ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This piece is a 5 colour hand-pulled screenprint on 300gsm Somerset textured paper. The dimensions are 76cm x 56cm and it's a signed Edition of 30. I wanted to do my take on a Government Health Pamphlet, something as ridiculous as the "Duck an cover" campaign of the 1950's. So a smiling retro woman dons a helmet and air tank as a solution to breathing the polluted air of London. I wanted the bright, vibrant colours to mask darkness of the message. This piece took on a whole new meaning when the Covid pandemic shut down London, and the world.
