A transplant from the Midwest, Nanci Schrieber-Smith has called Southern California home since 1976.
Schrieber-Smith holds an MA and MFA from California State University, Fullerton.
After 32 years of teaching Painting and Glass courses at the College level, Schrieber-Smith says she is not “retired” but rather “repurposed” a reference to her multidisciplinary process of creating artworks from repurposed materials.
Through this environmentally friendly process, she gives a new purpose and a new meaning to the debris of our civilization, and at the same time, she has found a way to artfully present the medium of glass in a non-traditional approach.
