Picasso said "everyone tries to explain the art and I wonder why not try to explain the birdsong" . Arturo’s work comes from sub-consciousness and expresses what is impossible to be put into words. The paintings are grounded in human figure as a metaphor and in fascination how colour changes the sense of form. The inner tension of the heart is carved in two dimensionality of painting: the essence of the friction of the soul with the world and oneself. Lately Arturo is partially abandoning figuration and started to experiment with sculptures in wood reliefs and digital media. While I use a variety of materials and processes in each project my methodology is consistent. Although there may not always be material similarities between the different projects they are linked by recurring formal concerns and through the subject matter.
