Black Women

This work is a tribute to all black women on the planet, especially those who with their courage and decision decided to change the world through their actions and thoughts to make it more just, although many times these lead to retaliation against them and their families.

Angela Davis

Born in 1944 in the state of Alabama, Angela Davis was a civil rights activist, member of the Black Panther Party movement, and professor of philosophy. Because of her revolutionary activism, she was even included in the FBI's most wanted list in the 1960s, by order of J. Edgar Hoover.

In 1972 she was sentenced to the death penalty, accused of being an accessory in a shootout with fatalities. The sentence was withdrawn due to intense international mobilization, which led Angela to become one of the symbols of the fight for the civil rights of men and women of color.

Throughout her life, Angela realized that equality between blacks and whites could only become a reality when there was also equal rights between men and women. For this reason, she also became a leading figure in the feminist movement.

To send the piece, first the piece is wrapped with a thin layer of acid-free paper, then it is covered with bubble wrap so that the piece is highly protected. At the end of these two packaging processes, I build a box exclusively for the work, with a very thick cardboard capable of withstanding possible incidents in transport and that the work reaches your hands in perfect condition.

Measurements of the piece: 79 x 14 x 12 cm.

From the Streets to the Canvas: The Transformation of an Artist David León, known as .leon, is a visual artist whose journey is a testament to overcoming adversity and resilience. From his early beginnings in graffiti to his establishment as a sculptor and painter, his life has been a constant challenge that has shaped his unique artistic vision. A late diagnosis of dyslexia marked a turning point in David's life. Despite the difficulties he faced in school, he found solace and a means of self-expression in art. The walls of Barcelona became his first canvas, where he expressed his nonconformist spirit and his passion for free expression. Far from being a limitation, dyslexia has been a source of inspiration and a catalyst for David León's creativity. His difficulty in processing written language led him to develop a keen sensitivity to images and symbols. In his works, we find a rich symbolism that transcends words, inviting the viewer to a deeply personal visual and emotional experience. Visual thinking, characteristic of many people with dyslexia, is evident in David's work through bold compositions and a vibrant color palette. His sculptures, with their stylized figures and organic forms, seem to come alive, inviting the viewer to explore different perspectives. Experimentation and freedom are other key elements of DS.LEON's work. Not being constrained by the conventional norms of written language, the artist has been able to develop a unique and personal style characterized by spontaneity and intuition. His works are the result of an intense and passionate creative process where emotion and reason intertwine. Through his art, David León has not only overcome personal obstacles but has also managed to connect with a wide and diverse audience. His works are an invitation to reflect on the complexities of contemporary society and to find new ways of expressing ourselves. Ultimately, dyslexia has been a fundamental factor in the artistic development of David León. His personal experience has enriched his work, giving it a depth and originality that make him a unique artist in the contemporary art scene.
