ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Japan is a wondrous nation. Rich in its culture and art, its impeccable order and precision. It should be no surprise therefore, that so much inspiration is drawn from it. Organic forms are well developed in Japanese art culture. My studies, have compelled me to create a work derived from its essence. This piece is built of blue and grey concrete on iron; hand shaped, carved and polished. The overall shape is highly rounded, creature like, free standing on its three projecting appendages. Balance, volume and harmony all combined.
