Blue Marlin Sculpture

A love for one of the fastest fish in the sea and to personally challenge myself inspired me to create this scale Blue Marlin in a breaching posture Using scrap metal components and materials turning harsh materials into an elegant and iconic fish from the sea. trying my hand at unfamiliar sheet metal fabrication and learning new technique's on the Marlin journey. To replicate the Marlins stunning colours, heat was applied to the sheet metal to give a wonderful iridescent finish. Finished with several coats of clear lacquer ideally suited for indoor installation, I am now able to create sculptures with fully electroplated finishes making them weatherproof and resistant to the elements.
