Born from Stone is a play on words for this granite carving of a nude woman. She uses her arms and hands to reach over her body to cover herself and she looks up towards the heavens. Perhaps the first woman? The pose seems similar to the Bible's Eve, born of bone. This stand-alone stone sculpture is solid granite, thus durable inside or outside (but secure for theft if left outside). But she looks great on a tabletop, sturdy coffee table, sideboard, or on a pedestal. With the modesty pose here, the woman would make a great addition to a bathroom shelf. Granite can stand some humidity, so a perfect way to add art to this often-used room in your home decor. Size is just over two feet tall and she ships from the Chicago, USA, area.

Born in 1950 in the province of Kobaky of Ivano-Frankivsk, Vasily spent his childhood surrounded by the beauty of the Carpathian Mountains. Member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine since 1982. As an invited guest to the Seattle 1990 Goodwill Games, he rest of his life as a professional sculptor. He was a member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine since 1982. As an invited guest to the Seattle 1990 Goodwill Games, Vasily created a stone sculpture "Exchange Vision" which today is a part of the permanent collection of the Washington State Historical Society in Tacoma. It was shortly after this event that he moved his family to the United States. Vasily always felt that the basic creativity and performance of the artist depends on the shape and components of the materials for sculpture: bronze, wood, clay and his greatest love - stone. Vasily's great skill is shown in his exquisite compositions. He confidently transformed his material, connecting realistic and abstract forms and showing off the natural beauty and detail of the stone itself.
