ABOUT THE ARTWORK
My Bubble series is inspired by precariously stacked stones in a creek. I create each vase starting with a single thrown cylinder. I work from the bottom to the top of the cylinder, shaping each sphere above the last to give the illusion they are delicately stacked. The size of the spheres decrease as they go upward, either in a uniformly tapered manner, or more drastically, ending in a very small and delicate top. Glazed in cool tones, my Bubble Vases are reminiscent of a crisp stream.
