Lithuanian born sculptor, Arturas Karabanovas is a graduate of Vilnius Academy of Arts where he studied fine arts, and specialised in jewellery & sculpture. He works in a variety of media including bronze, precious metals, oil, and graphics. However his passion is bronze sculpture.
Arturas sculpts, casts and patinates his own work in his studio in Galway and has an international following. Arturas uses ‘lost wax’ technique and participates in an entire process of sculpture-casting; from mould making to its final finish. His work continues to evolve; His inspiration comes from observing the surrounding ‘neighbourhood.’ He likes to explore texture and colours. He pays a lot of attention to details and small parts which makes it a difficult task to cast and patinate as beautifully as he has done. His pieces are sweet and collectable
