About The Artwork
The act of collecting the material is a whole other adventure. The hunt of finding a new material or one I have an instant idea on how it can be disassembled. The obsessive gathering of a material once I have run out it all becomes part of a process that feeds the design or feeds the idea further. It’s the challenge of finding the new, the joy of creating a surface from the unexpected and the process of joy the viewer experiences in discovering the true identity of an object I have reconstructed a form with. This particular piece used an inner tube on the bottom of the snake and uses pull tabs from cans to emulate shedding skin.
