"Colonne Ii" Sculpture

Alban Lanore (born in 1966 in Paris) is a self-taught French sculptor whose work forms a powerful dialogue between the organic and the geometric. Initially inspired by the raw forms of nature discovered during his travels, he gradually evolved his practice toward a rigorous abstraction. His work is characterized by the use of charred wood, a technique that creates a striking contrast between polished surfaces and carbonized textures, as well as by a quest for formal and conceptual balance. Although he deliberately works away from the art world from his residence in Touraine, Alban Lanore has succeeded in establishing a strong presence on the contemporary art market.
