These days an artist cannot go on painting flowers and landscapes... This crisis dominates our daily life. How will it go on, who will die, how about world economy? This is the greatest crisis since WW II. As a doctor I have to go on working, I help those who have problems and pain. I am not young, we do not have protective equipment. This might be one of my last paintings? No matter, it was a good life! I love to create with things I found, I am walking with open eyes. These are the wings of dead seagulls I found on the beach after a storm, and old armouring iron from a construction site. This is what's left of civilisation and of creatures... My work is framed, but this is also for protection, if I should have to send it. It's not a valuable frame.

https://www.petrapainting.com https://www.instagram.com/petrapainting Born close to Nuremberg I grew up in the city of Albrecht Duerer and have been under the spell of this fascinating artist since I was a child. Besides my job as a dentist my heart always belonged to art. I painted every free minute, I wanted to capture the music of the waves, the fire of the setting sun and the hymn of the wind in my paintings. Inspired by visits of museums all over Europe my art got influenced by 'Informal Art'. My role models are Emil Schumacher, Anselm Kiefer, Jean Dubuffet, Alberto Burri and last but not least I was impressed deeply by Jackson Pollock and Franz Kline. With my paintings I want to express a passionated joy about the beauty of life, the beauty of art and the beauty of the world. And I would like to draw peoples' attention on current topics and issues. I want to make aware of the problems of our time as environmental destruction.
