I've been working on this technique with clay porcelain slip. Pouring and manipulating it on a plaster bat, then adding glazes and more slip. The build up is quite interesting.

Though, releasing it from the plaster bat and transferring it to a kiln shelve is not for the faint of hearts.

Los Angeles based sculptor Beverly Morrison has been honing her skills in clay for the last two decades. Celebrating the rawness of clay while incorporating Eastern philosophies of imperfect beauty, she allows cracks, crevices and textures to play center stage through her minimalistic forms and vessels, often referring to her work as ‘Modern Day Relics’. As a process-oriented person, Beverly pays homage to her muse, mother nature, by mixing and developing her own clay bodies, so she may participate in the “sculptural dance” from conception. She earned a BA in Studio Arts from California State University of Long Beach, but her greatest accomplishments in clay have emerged from a wellspring of deep intuition and self-education, guided by inspiration found in the natural world.
