Born in 1950 in the province of Kobaky of Ivano-Frankivsk, Vasily spent his childhood surrounded by the beauty of the Carpathian Mountains. Member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine since 1982. As an invited guest to the Seattle 1990 Goodwill Games, he rest of his life as a professional sculptor. He was a member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine since 1982. As an invited guest to the Seattle 1990 Goodwill Games, Vasily created a stone sculpture "Exchange Vision" which today is a part of the permanent collection of the Washington State Historical Society in Tacoma. It was shortly after this event that he moved his family to the United States. Vasily always felt that the basic creativity and performance of the artist depends on the shape and components of the materials for sculpture: bronze, wood, clay and his greatest love - stone. Vasily's great skill is shown in his exquisite compositions. He confidently transformed his material, connecting realistic and abstract forms and showing off the natural beauty and detail of the stone itself.
