Desert Architecture Sculpture

Playful geometric shapes, intricate hand marbled design and tactile encaustic wax surface combine for a truly unique piece of wall art. This 3dimensional mixed media wall sculpture is at once architectural and soft, dynamic and sculptural, geometric and playful. The multi-colored paper surface was individually hand-marbled by the artist. A semi-circle shape is raised 1/4" and casts a soft shadow across the vibrant pink color field on a birch plywood substrate. Fine lines are incised by hand into the wax surface revealing a red circle overlay. The piece is finished under a layer of encaustic wax. Encaustic art involves fusing heated beeswax and damar resin on the surface of the substrate. The results are a soft, barely opaque, molten surface full of nuance and character that catches the light. ⁣Care for an encaustic painting as you would any fine art painting. Signed on the back, and ready to hang on the wall, in multiple ways, with a metal cleat hanger, or can be framed by the collector.
