I make art using natural, organic materials that I find in nature. Driftwood serves as the structural foundation material, due to it's natural beauty formed by erosion over time.

The Snail began with the shell piece, which is a driftwood root burl that, after many months of pondering, It came to me that it looked like a snails shell. I then found a suitable piece of driftwood to make the body, and finished it off with some twig parts for the antennae. Some staining was added to the body for color matching. The finished product was then mounted on a black wood base, and sprayed with a matte finish.

Prior to assembly, all parts go through a cleaning and heat treatment process.

It brings me great joy to work in, and with nature to make my art. For me, there is nothing more inspirational than the beauty of nature, and the stories and fables it inspires.
