About The Artwork
I use natural materials found in nature to make creatures from reality and fantasy. The sculpture shown here is a walrus, made using driftwood for the body. The tusks are abalone shell pieces, and the eyes are black onyx stones. The snout is a walnut shell, and the whiskers are pine needles. Some stain is added for color matching and the walrus is mounted on a stone slab. All materials used go through a heat treatment and cleaning process prior to assembly. The final product is coated with a sealant spray.
