All the works developed by sculptor Vilma Silveira, born in São Paulo and currently residing in Embu das Artes, began with the legacy left by her husband, Álvaro Franklin da Silveira. Recognized for his active participation in the field of sculpture, Álvaro has pieces displayed in major galleries and art offices throughout Brazil. In the studio, by assisting and contributing to the artistic process alongside her husband, Vilma learned to observe, shape, and transform through the creation of art pieces. She focused on achieving aesthetic balance, aiming to express the natural beauty of each work. “Sculpting and polishing marble and granite has been, and continues to be, a great privilege.” PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE SELF-TAUGHT ARTIST All the experience gained over 41 years of dedication and collaboration stems from assisting her sculptor husband in the creation of projects and pieces to meet client demands. Working as a self-taught artist, she learned to observe details, develop a sensitive perspective, and bring expression to raw materials. Her work involves shaping, extracting beauty, and achieving artistic quality. The raw material, solidified over time, is transformed into delicate and light lines, shifting from one state to another through the intense work of chiseling.
