About The Artwork

With proud head held high and mane streaming back, The Horse embodies absolute freedom and sheer grace. The sense of movement is beautifully captured in this intricately detailed horse. Lisbeth Sabol's exquisite sculptures are cast using the lost wax method of bronze-casting to capture the intricate detail of each piece. Hand-applied patinas add subtle color variation. This freestanding bronze features a "bay" patina: a beautiful bronze-colored body with black mane, tail, ears, nose, and hooves. Custom patinas are available. Custom patinas may require additional delivery time. The Horse is cast in bronze and available in an artist limited edition of 100. Each limited edition bronze is signed and numbered by the artist. Please be advised the bronze may be immediately available or may have to be cast to order, a process that can take up to 8 weeks. Please feel free to make your purchase or consult first with a Saatchi representative.

Lisbeth's work in public collections includes sculptures in Quiet Waters Park, Maryland; Glacier National Park, Montana; and Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado. Her marble sculpture at Rocky Mountain National Park is a detailed portrait of 14,259' Longs Peak she sculpted after climbing to the summit while NPS Artist-in-Residence in the Park. While official Sculptor-in-Residence at Mt Rushmore National Memorial in 2000 and 2001, Lisbeth sculpted several original sculptures while onsite demonstrating her stone-carving techniques to Park visitors. During her stay, she was granted access to climb Mt Rushmore. In 2003, Lisbeth spent a month carving a two ton block of stone at The Tareitanga International Sculpture Symposium in Wellington, New Zealand, a prestigious invitational event that features sculptors from all over the world. She sculpted a larger than life-size figure emerging from the block of stone. Lisbeth is a graduate of The College of William & Mary, earning degrees in Fine Arts and Biology.
