ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Inspired by the reportage revealing the shocking inhumanity and destruction of cities such as Homs and Aleppo in Syria in the ongoing war. Images of devastated forests from the battles of WW1 melded with the scenes from Syrian cities today. Rust bleeds from the paintings/sculptures emanating from metal, debris, 'shrapnel' and swarf embedded on the artwork surface. Entitled 'Futility of war"
