Faces No1 Sculpture

This artwork talks about the complicated emotions that exist within us. In our everyday life, we could be happy, sad, angry, disgust… Only by looking from the outside can we understand these emotions through the reflection of the 2 faces that can be seen from the statues. One side represent a woman’s face with many shades of red glazes. Another side show a man’s face with many shades of blue glazes. Red and blue reflects each other in the color scale, which also talks about the different state of emotion, both negative and positive in our life. The middle of the sculpture is the image of a skull. It is the perfect representation of resurrection; these train of emotions will follow us from start to finish. The material to form the skulls is earth covered with a variety of glazes, giving it a diversity of feeling.
