About The Artwork

Wall art, title : Far East Home A curving, twisting sculpture giving close attention to form and shape. This is a minimal, skeletal piece. No frame, no background. The black backboard gives an element of 'float' from the wall and is only visible when the piece is viewed side on. The wall that this piece is hung upon provides the background as there is just open space between the shards of wood, this allows the work to breathe and embraces its 3D aspect. This work explores the play of form and simplicity - a step into how static shapes can give an idea of movement. The piece looks dynamic in any orientation. This piece measures: Height: 36 inches (91cm) Width: 34 inches (86cm) Depth: 3/4 inch (2cm) A single recessed keyhole slot is installed on the back so the piece is ready to hang. The keyhole hanging method also allows the piece to hang flush and very secure to the wall.

Vince is a London born, Bath city based artist who's work offers an alternative to the conventional plane and shape of framed paintings by bringing his sculptural wall art to attention the viewer. He creates artworks that focus on the interaction of colours, shape and depth. The composition and palette choices are influenced heavily by his teenage years spent as a graffiti artist. The evolution of this, post-graffiti genre, is evident in his work by the way he carefully composes sculptures of spacial balance making use of geometric and abstract forms. Vince's skillset is based in fine woodworking that has been passed down through generations of Bauhaus orientated artisans in his family. The discovery of artists such as Paul Klee, Joan Miro and Wassily Kandinsky urged him to introduce colour to his sculptures. His artworks can be found in both private and corporate collections worldwide. The Bath Times have run features on his work over a number of publications. His pieces are constructed from premium birch ply. They are brush painted in artists quality acrylic paint.
