The Sculpture is made from Beech wood slats, plywood and graphite powder. My influence or starting point for this work was the "architect of the nuclear age"; Enrico Fermi who created the world's first nuclear reactor, Chicago Pile-1. Art & science has played an important part within my work whether it’s science fiction or science fact. The idea that artwork is limitless has had a profound interest for me. I want my artwork to give the viewer a sense of wonderment in showing the things that sometimes reside behind the mirror and not always in front.

Dallas gradated from the Royal College of Art in 2001 with a Masters Degree in sculpture and foundry art practice. His former career as an aerospace engineer and his eclectic interest in science and science fiction have influenced most of his sculptural art practice for a number of years. His work has been featured in publications, exhibitions and major shows throughout the UK, Europe and USA, with numerous works in private and public art collections. In 2007, Dallas was fortunate to be short-listed for the Jerwood sculpture prize and in 2008 was commissioned by Barratt Homes to produce a major new sculpture for a new housing development near Bristol. In 2009 Dallas helped initiate an artist collective, this culminated in the group being short-listed in 2010 to represent Wales at the 54th Venice Biennale 2011. In 2017 Dallas became a network member at the Royal West of England Academy Bristol and in January 2018 he was elected as an Academician and council member of the RWA.
