The main inspiration for Fishdance was the A Frame and steering suspension components from a 1960 Ford truck, namely the Fish's eye sockets, followed by other members that became parts to the jaws. The dissembled chassis and most of the frame were used in the structure. I used many recycled materials to give an organic / mechanical life to the fish placing the organs in areas that mimic life. A few examples are a Manifold for converting water to oxygen, an exploded Locomotive piston for a heart, an Outboard propeller for propulsion etc. Fishdance also functions as a fountain when hooked up to water, it shoots water out of its tong located in the lower jaw, though it is not necessary to run it as a fountain it was a choice that I integrated in to the art work during the making process.
