About The Artwork
This is a unique sculpture carved by Marko in Carrara marble with a black marble base. Marko roughed out the sculpture at Studio Sem in Camaiore, Tuscany and completed it at his studio in the UK. It is based on an earlier organic sculpture he carved in Agata alabaster from Volterra. It represents the spiritual rise from a point of despair to an uplifting flight of joy and understanding. Very similar to the Phoenix rising from the ashes.
