ARTIST AND PAINTER Ivan Tarin was born in Brooklyn -NY he grew up in Juarez- Mexico and El Paso-Texas. He has explored many artistic movements and although instructed in classic renaissance techniques he has focused on the abstract. He has focused many years studying cubism and reflects that many of his paintings are inspired by early cubism. Tarin believes that, " there is still something to find in what I call constructive cubism, and I believe I can find it so that I can create something new". Tarin's mission is to search for a new art that hasn't been seen before. He employs all of his experience having been taught classical techniques at UTEP and College of Santa Fe (Santa Fe University of Art and Design). At UTEP the basics were drilled and at College of Santa Fe they taught how to think and find your own voice. His work has incorporated street art as he states, " graffiti was the first art that I was ever exposed to- a guy at Pueblito Mexicano in Juarez would paint alien landscapes and I just wanted to be like him". Although, Tarin lists cubism as one of his points of concentration he has many other areas of research. Some of these areas are: abstract expressionism, neo-expressionism, graffiti, urban art, gigantism, and reality. Spending his time making sculptures, music, DJ-ing, collage work, and photography he has many ideas.
