Il rifiuto del Tao (The Tao refuse) Sculpture

The work "THE TAO REFUSE" is a sculpture made by modeling the pieces of about 30 recycled soccer balls. Once unstitched, the pieces have been reassembled by hand. The obtained sculpture was pulled to a turning iron frame with a diameter of about 2 meters. The work has two sides, respectively the outer and inner part of the old soccer balls. The "THE TAO REFUSE" represents the discomfort that the man feels in not knowing his own existential condition. As much as he deludes himself to know, by naming and judging, however much he increases his ego by adapting his discoveries to his goals and needs, as far as he believes and is convinced, through his abilities, to be above all things, to be able to be, for example, a destroyer or savior of his planet, in reality he cannot in any way go against nature as he himself is part of nature. His action cannot in any way go outside the predefined scheme of the universe (represented by the Tao). Nature does not judge actions as good or bad, it is only able to direct them towards an incomprehensible purpose and to which man he must humbly adapt.
